Fresh Perspectives Project

Young people participating as trustees on local boards

Fresh Perspectives Project

Fresh Perspectives is a three year mentoring, training & support package to enable young people to participate as trustees on local boards.

The benefit for trustee boards to widen their diversity by including young people has been recommended by The Charity Commission, citing that it gives organisations

  • A broader range of trustee skills, knowledge and experience for a charity to draw upon

  • Increased accountability for a charity’s actions and public confidence in its work

  • Greater assurance that a charity is fair and open it all its dealings

Fresh perspectives will ensure that any connections made are in keeping with the needs of the organisation and will provide mentoring and training where necessary to ensure the connections are beneficial for all parties.

The programme initially launched in the Canterbury District will be extended across Kent in due course.

If you are a young person aged 16-25 or a charity looking to recruit trustees and are based in the Canterbury District and would like more information please get in touch with Sarwah, Project Coordinator by emailing
