The Tesco Charity Trust Community Awards
The Tesco Charity Trust Community Awards Scheme Provides one-off donations of between £1,000 and £4,000. The funding they give goes towards providing practical benefits, such as equipment and resources for projects that directly benefit children, the elderly and adults and children with disabilities, living in the local communities around their stores in the UK.
There are two categories of Community Awards:
1. Grants to support children's welfare and/or children's educations (including special needs schools)
Applications can be made between:1st December & 31st January or 1st May & 30th June
2. Grants to support elderly people and/or adults and children with disabilities
Applications can be made between: 1st February & 31st March or 1st August & 30th September

Heritage Lottery Funding
The Heritage Lottery Fund concentrates on projects which focus on heritage, this includes many different things from the past that they value and want to pass on to future generations. For example: memories and experiences, history of communities, cultural traditions, historic buildings and streets, archaeological sites, landscapes, wildlife and places linked to industrial, maritime or transport.

Young Persons Volunteering Fund - Grants of up to £10,000
The Young Person's Volunteering Fund is designed to involve young people in the community in community volunteering projects. The Fund has been specifically designed to support projects that actively involve young people aged 14-25yrs to gain experience of voluntary work, creating a project that can be enjoyed by the whole community. The Worshipful company of Weavers - Grants of up to £15,000
The object of the fund is to support projects working with disadvantaged young people to ensure that they are given every possible chance to meet their full potential and to participate fully in society. This includes:

helping young people at risk of criminal involvement to stay out of trouble

assisting in the rehabilitation of offenders, particularly young offenders both in prison and after release
The Company has laid down certain criteria in selecting projects: it prefers to help new projects in the early stages and, in particular, innovatory projects which could act as a model for similar work elsewhere; it sees its role as pump-priming and does not usually provide long-term funding, although it does sometimes provide more significant help to particular projects.

Abel Charitable Trust
The Abel Charitable Trust favours projects that support offenders, young people and those with addiction problems. They feel it is important for people to be able to help themselves and consider charities that provide training, information and education.
Charities should be based in the South East and grants tend to be between £3,000 and £5,000 however, larger grants may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

The Monica Rabagliati Charitable Trust gives grants primarily in support of organisations that focus on the alleviation of child suffering and deprivation. The trustees have decided to prioritise small/medium sized organisations where possible and grants are usually between £1,000 and £5,000

Opportunities Through Sport – The trustees welcome grant applications from charities in the UK whose projects fall into the following categories:

Wooden Spoon
Wooden Spoon aims to support projects which will enhance the quality and prospect of life for children and young people who are disadvantaged physically, mentally or socially.
Projects must normally be of a capital nature, with a reasonably long-term prospective lifetime (Computers and electronic equipment are only rarely supported). Capital projects are projects that create an asset on completion and generally comprise bricks and mortar such as medical treatment and recovery centres, sports and activity areas, sensory rooms and gardens, playgrounds and hydrotherapy pools.
Grants are generally in the range £20,000 - £100,000 and representing 25% - 100% of the total project cost.

Mothercare Group Foundation
The Mothercare Group Foundation has objectives closely linked to the interests of their customers and staff. Each year the Foundation focuses a significant donation to one charity with others supported to a lesser extent.
Their objectives are:

Ensuring the good health and well-being of mums-to-be, new mums and their children

Special baby-care needs and premature births

Other parenting initiatives relating to family well-being.
They also make available two discrete funds for Mothercare Group employees. These are:

O2 Think Big
The O2 Think Big programme is for people aged 13 – 25 living in the UK. It supports projects that make your community a better place. This could be anything from starting a dance club to starting a revolution.
Initially if your project is accepted you will receive £300, training and support, £30 mobile credit plus more. Once you have completed your £300 project and things are going well you may be invited to Think Bigger and apply for up to £2500 plus free O2 broadband for a year, £50 mobile credit, a laptop and more. The True Colours Trust - Small Grants UK
The Trust has a small grants programme, open to application at any time, which provides grants of up to £10,000, usually for one-off purposes, to help smaller organisations develop and deliver programmes for children, their siblings and families.

Barbara Ward Children's Foundation
The BWCF is a small grant-making body that helps smaller non-religious charities to serve severely disadvantaged children anywhere in the world.
They focus their support on financially healthy children’s charities where funding is not forthcoming from statutory bodies, where incomes and fund balances are constantly put to good use and where administration overheads are kept to a minimum. They welcome all applications that fit these simple criteria.
Applications for a grant should be made in writing detailing the specific purpose for which the grant is requested and should be accompanied by a copy of the latest Report & Accounts.

The Pilgrim Trust
The Pilgrim Trust aims to preserve and promote Britain's historical and intellectual assets and provides assistance to vulnerable members of society by supporting projects where funds will make a great impact. Provides a wide range of mobility equipment for children and young people up to the age of 25 with disabilities that are not funded through the NHS. These include powered, manual and sports wheelchairs, specially adapted tricycles, bicycles, buggies and walking aids as well as specially designed communication aids and sensory equipment such as fibre optic sprays.
Applications must be for specialised pieces of equipment for individual children (not groups or schools) and must be made by the individual applying, their parent, or legal guardian.
